Early one morning, I had the opportunity to visit with encaustic painter, Kat Fitzpatrick, in her home studio in Bay St. Louis as she prepared for a new exhibit in New Orleans. Whether it was the magic of the morning light, the pure wonder of her work, or the simple pleasure of watching her face . . . her body . . . her hands, it was a marvelously inspired start to the day. - B.R.
