Kat Fitzpatrick

Kat Fitzpatrick and Lori Gordon will be featured artists in a dual exhibit at The Caron Gallery, 128 West Main Street in downtown Tupelo, May 15-May 31. The opening reception will be from 5 to 7 p.m.,  Thursday, May 15.

In addition to the dual exhibition, both Kat and Lori will be conducting workshops:

• Kat will  offer her Encaustic (Painting with Wax) Workshop, Friday and Saturday, May 16-17. This two day workshop is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., both days.  The workshop fee is $300 will include all supplies and will be held at the Gum Tree Museum of Art, 211 W Main St., Tupelo. • Lori Gordon will offer her Collage Workshop, Friday and Saturday, May 30-31 also at the Gum Tree Museum. his two day workshop is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., both days.  Fee will include all supplies. For more information, contact the Museum at (662) 844-2787.

Caron Gallery was in development for over 15 years, if only in her mind. During those years, Kimberly Rose Caron spent her time raising two wonderful teenagers, Emilie and Josh, and supporting the career of her talented husband, Richard.  She had been patiently waiting for just the right time to make her dream of opening an art gallery a reality. Kim and her husband supported the local art museum and regional art festivals, but wanted more access to the many talented artists in Mississippi. With such a rich and diverse art community, it was a surprise these artists were not displaying their work on a day-to-day basis.

Now beginning its fourth year, the gallery is thriving and represents a wide range of artists from various towns and cities in Mississippi.  The gallery stays busy installing art in client’s homes, presenting exhibitions of gallery artists, art workshops for the novice and established artists and special events in Downtown Tupelo.  Plus, last year the gallery added custom framing services and it is growing daily to meet the community’s needs.

Caron Gallery is located at 128 West Main Street in downtown Tupelo, MS, and is open Monday through Friday from 10-5, Thursday ’til 7 and Saturday 11-3.  Tupelo is located between Memphis, TN and Birmingham, AL along Highway 78, which crosses North Mississippi.
